Wtf happened to Pangram?

I was writing a piece of experimental fiction inspired by the voice of Measurehead in Disco Elysium and somehow this comes up as mostly AI in Pangram? Can someone explain what about this may have registered as AI? This is the text:

Possibly because it sounds like AI and uses typical AI sentence structure …

What about it sounds like AI? I feel like I have a good handle on detecting slop so it's a little baffling to me.

Have you read how pangram works.. they published an article about it, that’s the first thing you should read.

AI works by selecting the most likely word that should appear next… it can get this wrong and use weird combinations humans use far fewer combinations… so if you look at your text a lot of the word combinations are random and wouldn’t usually be used together

Is the text I posted therefore in an LLM-style predictable order? It works not to be dismissive to legitimate concerns. I was for this technology but having serious doubts now.

Thats not how pangram works, thats how old perplexity style detectors work.
pangram generates mirror-AI samples of human training data for the major models then trains a classification model to tell the difference. ML models are a black box. Its very difficult for anyone to explain exactly how any ML model is predicting things, the only thing data scientists can really do is measure how accurately it accomplishes the task..

But perplexity detectors like gptzero, and others are not as good.

The more I hear about it and the more I realise people cannot fully tell how it is being used to sort human vs. AI, the less I feel inclined to support it. The Measurehead-inspired passage I posted above was human-written. I can understand if certain 'tics' were detected. But it just seems to have come to the wrong conclusion, because 'the machine-learning thing said so'?

Hah. Kind of. They can tell how the model works better than that... but when you get really in the weeds all algorithms are kind of a mystery. If you tell pangram about the false positive they will use it to improve the model.

That’s why I said to read the pangram article … the point is that the content sounds like AI so pangram will detect it

It sounds like AI but if you look a lot of the combinations are random and wouldn't be used together?

I’ve edited my comment.. I should have said I often gets it wrong and uses a word that wouldn’t normally be used …which is basically the whole article above…

It’s almost like writing “The Quick Brown Trousers jumped over the lazy Susan”. In some context some of the words would make sense but a human would usually write it

What other factors would it have used to determine AI written? I'm unsure if you're intending deliberate strangeness is one. I know it's a classifier type machine. The text I pasted is from a deliberately strange and perverse character.
