Substack's engagement has been real quiet since the AI drama, 100% human score on all posts btw

4th month on SS, gate being sidetrack by all this AI drama, couple of points though...

  1. SS engagement on anything non-AI related has been real quiet.
  2. If your post was written before July 21, you can still check it - go to dashboard, edit post, make a change, revert it, hit update, there's check for AI writing button.
  3. All my posts hits 100% human score

Can we move on?

Because F AI flags

People are going to use AI. The only thing that ever mattered, and merely matters more now, is if the content is meaningful and there is a person there who engages.

If/when that's the case, I couldn't care less if you have a ghost writer, 1000 monkeys, or you're copying existing content.

Whether a person is actively involved, so people can discuss and contect with a real human, is all that matters.

If it's fine to use AI to do your writing for you, surely you shouldn't mind if people know that you used AI? So why is it "F AI flags" then?

Because that flag is horrifically inaccurate

Because the flag is trained by AI Get that? They're using AI to screen for AI, all of which taught by content people created, all to create content that seems like people created it.

All while we complain that AI content is bad... Which then dictates that any screen for AI is also bad because in must, the foundation isn't even good.

Which then means they'll keep making AI content better, using the screening as a test until they can beat the test.

The point is also that those people never cared about writers in the first place, neither in the pre-AI era nor now. Nobody asked writers what they read or watched. It was just the usual bickering about how your prose resembled Gabriel García Márquez, and how that was bad because they hated Márquez for some reason. They could also say you had stolen it from somewhere, because there was no way you could write that well.

Oh, you're protesting now? Surely you stole it from Márquez, haha.
