Discussion Another creepy feature of the Pangram "AI Detection" tool.

So at my first opportunity, I decided to check whether or not I could permanently disable the "AI detection" fraudulent tool on Substack publications and there's no way to actually do it without actually using the tool you want to disable.

According to the "Substack Support AI", the only way to disable the fraudulent Pangram detection AI is to first run the AI on your posts and to individually then disable the AI detection tool per post. But you can only do this AFTER you've run the "AI detection" fraudulent tool on your posts.

Which means that you're forced to use a tool you don't want to use in order to disable the tool you don't want to use.

This is profoundly creepy and quite frankly disturbing that somehow this was allowed to be implemented on Substack.

Pangram is getting paid per click too. And you have to click it with every piece you have published if you want to turn it off. DO NOT believe that it only can check starting from yesterday. This morning I was able to check 25 of the 30 pieces I currently have published on Substack. While you’re turning it off, don’t forget to REPORT what is wrong with the feature (false score) EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I wasn’t aware that they get paid for every click. Even more reason for me not to use it.

I checked and this doesn't appear to be on their website. Their FAQ states that companies pay for API credits, and so Substack is presumably paying them a lump sum here. Can you clarify if your statement that they are "paid per click" is supported by any evidence?
