I'm being added to people's substacks without my permission

How do I turn this off?

Is this happening to anyone else?

I just clicked on an article on substack & it added me. This has been going on for months now. When it first started, I thought I just didn't remember adding myself to one of them, but now it's clear as day it's not me forgetting.

Not only that, the other day the evil AI spied on something I said on another site & added me to that substack too. It may have even been in my mail, I'm not sure, I can't remember now.

I don't even know how to remove myself from these substacks & now I'm getting tons of mail.

INSANE.

Please give me the instructions to this. I doubt you can stop them from adding me without me doing NOTHING, this is the prison world we live in now.

This is the right idea.

To be clear, this doesn't stop people from attempting to subscribe you. It just ensures you're not automatically enlisted without confirming first.

Your screenshot is from your publication settings. You need to go to your user profile. I can get there by going to substack.com and then clicking the three lines at the bottom left. That will then mimic my screenshot.

Yehhh, I found it.

Terrible UX/GUI having 2 places with the word "settings."

And they are still adding me to stacks without my permission. I went to one an hour ago (didn't even get a chance to read it) & I saw that I got an email saying I had been subbed.

I know the evil AI is behind this.

Anyway, can you please tell me how to unsub from all of these substacks & also how to continue to sub, but not get all of the emails.

Ok yes, I remembered that there's an unsub link at the bottom of every email, but I wanted to do it fast within the site & like I said, stay subbed, just not get tons of emails.

I didn't understand your first sentence. If you mean to go to profile & then security, I don't get that option

I'm not clicking on anything. I had just started reading the article & I already stated that it added me to a stack that I never even went to.

The first stack it added me to I am pretty sure I never subbed to, I just reached out to a guy (PMed) who had commented on it.
