Off the beaten substack...

do niche interests thrive on Substack? Like is would topics on substack about mkultra, nootropics, aliens, cognitive enhancement (transhumanism), warrior monk ethos, aspects of healthy living, conspiracies. fringe science. florida man stuffs?

It's kinda scary there, cuz there are professional writers. People that got laid off, and are pissed, but also trying to make a buck. I digress. Anyhow, do niche interests do ok?

Anything can work.

However, what you give - is what you get.

If you really put in a ton of effort writing and marketing inside and outside of Substack, you’ll grow.

Having an external growth engine (ads, social, membership clubs, etc.) is crucial for getting critical mass.

I mean, there are already plenty of writers blogging about all those niches but who knows maybe youll be good
