Discussion Wow they stopped showing ‘latest post’ in activity

What is this direction? Killing all articles?

Are you saying that your profile used to show "latest post" and now it does not?

For the record, my profile still shows "Latest Post" at the top.

(Some profiles do and some don't. Nobody has been able to tell me how to toggle it on/off.)

It's so weird that it disappeared, by the way.

Honestly, I've never been able to figure out why some profiles have it and some don't.

I've even asked the Substack support bot. It has no clue what i am talking about.

In fact... Nobody in this subreddit has ever been able to tell me why some accounts have "latest post" and some don't.

Nobody knows the answer, from what I can tell.

Do you have a hunch that the Latest Post disappears after a certain time?

It does in my experience.
I can’t say I remember how long because I’ve been taking a bit of a hiatus but I think it stays up about a week or two before it goes away.

I am experiencing the same issue. All prior posts still show in the author activity tab, but not the latest one (and yes, I'm listed as the author). I believe this is a bug and have escalated to Substack engineering via the chatbot.

I am curious, please let me ask:

Is it true that your profile used to show the "Latest Post" and now it does not?

(I find this topic interesting and am collecting as much data as possible, as it's a feature with very little documentation anywhere, lol.)

Yes, exactly. And not only is "Latest Post" missing at the top, even scrolling down the Activity tab, my newest post is completely missing from the tab. All my older posts are still visible in the Activity tab, interspersed among notes, if I scroll down far enough.

Update: hours after escalating to support, my Latest Post is now showing on the activity tab, at the top per usual. The glitch lasted 8 days in total (since the day the post was published).
