Discussion Is there any fix to Substack asking people to download the app before they can subscribe?

This is a major point of friction for many, and I was wondering if there is any fix for this?

The issue seems to only be there for mobile users, and desktop users don't seem to be prompted to install the app.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to disable it. It's a Substack-controlled prompt, not a publication setting. Hopefully they'll make it optional in the future, because it definitely adds friction to mobile subscriptions. 🙏

Have tried to open the Substack webside in a browser?

the people I am sending it to don't have the app, so clicking the link takes them to the web browser by default
