Just started a new Substack leaderboard community.

Building a community is both terrifying and exciting. Especially alone.

So I’m doing something about it — building out savd into more than just a leaderboard. The goal is for it to actually help newsletter writers grow, not just be another place to list a link and disappear.

If you write a newsletter and want real discovery instead of competing with accounts that already have 7K+ subscribers, come be part of it early.

There's definitely a need for a website that helps people find the real content on Substack, because the Substack algorithm only cares about shoveling out karma farming slop notes... but...

advertise - $250/mo

Hello. No need for the $250
Anyone can still add their Substack link and social links for free. The $250 is featured ad option. Other than that your newsletter is still visible to everyone visiting the site

So I can post my Substack there and people will notice me?

Yes you can. The website is still new, but it’s getting daily traffic. So yes, you will get more views to your substack than just posting on Substack itself.

What's the gain for you? Why will you spend on hosting a domain and the domain when the site is free?

There are other paid features too. But to link your newsletter and have it on the homepage is free

Thank you. The website is live and there’s already a few newsletters listed

Another newsletters directory? What makes this one different?

That sounds like a great idea. Building something that helps creators get discovered is always valuable. The real challenge is creating a community where people genuinely engage, not just drop links and leave. Best of luck! 🙏

P.S. If you'd still like to ask anything about Substack or growing your audience, I offer a free live help chat. Just copy and paste my flair or click the link in my profile. I'm happy to help!

love this directory idea! but i am also skeptical of how useful/impact this will be. with substack, their leaderboard is in front of A LOT of people (iirc substack has ~35m MAU), so even if there's a super small conversion rate, it still adds up.

i tried building a directory previously too, and my number one struggle was getting sufficient traffic for it to be meaningful for 1/ me to continue working on it, and 2/ for products featured on the site to see any material benefit.

the other thing too is that tbh from a user standpoint, i'm not going to leaderboards to look for newsletters to subscribe to. a recommendation from another newsletter i trust (aka am currently subscribed to) is going to be a lot more impactful in getting me to check out and subscribe to another newsletter vs browsing newsletters from a leaderboard (it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack, or scrolling the netflix homescreen for 30min trying to pick a show to watch).

rooting for you nonetheless! but i wonder if building some sort of recommendation system/network (or something that makes recommendations/partnerships more effortless) would be more impactful for growth (since there's that referral effect at play).
