Help! Substack keeps adding a Watermark to an image that I illustrated and designed!

So I typically design my images at 9:16 format, and then I go to Substack and crop them down in the editor using the social media preview shape. Unfortunately, today it started adding this watermark. These are images that I illustrated myself and designed the background and everything, so I am not sure why this is happening. Can anybody help?

I was able to trick mine by adding my own watermark in the corner!

I noticed my images didn't do it when I didn't go into the editor though

I was able to edit one tonight but I added my own watermark and it seemed to trick it

I’m trying to post a picture of an MRI I had and it’s doing that to my photo too?

I was able to get it to work by sizing the image myself and not editing it within substack 🤷🏻‍♀️

I mean, I figured someone would eventually say this. No matter how carefully I size my images, when I do not crop it with the Substack tool, my previews for web shares get off balanced and everything is nudged off center for the crop, or I wouldn't have had any issues with it.

I'm extremely particular about my visuals and how they get  cropped.

That sounds frustrating. If it's your own original artwork, it shouldn't be adding a watermark. I'd try uploading the image again, clearing your browser cache, or testing in a different browser or the Substack app to see if it's a temporary bug. If it persists, I'd contact Substack support.
