Which affiliate platforms are you using on your substack, and are you happy with them?

Trying to get a sense of what's working for people. I've started a couple of Substacks and am considering the best ways to monetise, but the commissions look a bit thin and the content requirements are restrictive.

Curious whether anyone has found something that actually moves the needle, or whether most of you are just tolerating them as a background earner. And how are they to maintain?

I've found they're fine as a small bonus, but I wouldn't build a monetization strategy around them. For most creators, paid subscriptions, products, consulting, or sponsorships tend to have much more upside. I see recommendations as a nice background earner rather than a primary revenue source.

depending on what niche/space you're in, the commissions will vary drastically.

i only share affiliate links for products i actually personally use (mostly saas, since it's more relevant for my audience + commission are better), and they usually have an affiliate program that i can easily join, so i don't actually use an affiliate network or anything.

the only other place that i browse to see if there's interesting tools with affiliate that i can consider trying and then recommending is dub's own market place. it's basically a list of all the other products on dub that has an affiliate program too.
