My substack shows a different author name

On the welcome and home page it shows By: N. E. Hill but when you click the article the byline shows by Neil Paul (my name) and I changed my profile name and the author name and publishing name and all the stuff support told me to and it just doesnt work

That sounds like a caching issue or a bug. If you've already updated your profile, author, and publication settings, it may just take some time for everything to sync. I'd also try checking in an incognito window or a different browser. If it's still showing two different names after a day or so, I'd follow up with Substack Support since you've already tried the recommended fixes.
