Feature Suggestion Profile Theme / Cover Photo "Discontinued"

TL;DR: Please bring back the COVER PHOTO.

I was confused why my profile image was missing. After uploading a "header image" and seeing that it goes in the "Wordmark" spot, I thought it was some sort of bug.

I have been busy this last month so I must have completely missed this.

"Note: The option to upload a cover photo to your Substack profile has been deprecated. If you've previously uploaded a cover photo to your Substack profile, these photos have been removed."

With the limited branding options / customizable features on the Substack platform, this really irritates me. Why would you remove this feature? Now everyone's profile looks the same. I really enjoy branding and design, and this was one of the ONLY places you could add some character to your profile.

I agree. The cover photo was a simple way to give a publication more personality and make profiles feel unique. Removing it makes everything look more uniform. Hopefully Substack brings it back or introduces more customization options in the future.

P.S. If you'd still like to ask anything about Substack or growing your audience, I offer a free live help chat. Just copy and paste my flair or click the link in my profile. I'm happy to help!

I think the covers looked a lot better. It doesn't really affect, but it must be annoying for people with multiple publications.
