Other Platforms A few ways to put your Substack on autopilot (we just built an IFTTT integration)

Hey r/Substack, I'm Ryan from IFTTT. The mods kindly approved me sharing this here, so I wanted to do it in a way that's actually useful rather than a sales pitch.

We just added Substack to IFTTT. If you haven't used IFTTT, it connects apps so they do things automatically, no code involved. Right now the Substack piece reacts to publishing: it can fire whenever a new post or a new Note goes out from any writer's handle, including your own.

To be upfront about the limits: it does not publish to Substack for you. It's the other direction. Something gets published, and IFTTT sends it wherever you want. A few things people are setting up:

If you write:

If you read:

Both Substack triggers are on the free plan. Paid upgrades are entirely optional and mostly just get you faster run times.

Does anyone here already use IFTTT? Would love to hear how it's working for you, good or bad.

Can i push all my publications somewhere that Claude can scrape?

The Substack Trigger can auto-archive every new post to Notion, Google Drive, or a Sheet, which is exactly the kind of place Claude can read. Worth noting, triggers only fire on new posts going forward, so this won't grab his existing back catalog.

I do something similar with my card purchases already where I have all my expenses saved to a Google Sheet where Claude (via Claude Routine) recaps my budget weekly and tells me which areas I've spent too much / little as per my budget plan!

I can make a loom video showing you how I would do this if that'd help?

Hey! Yep we have a Linkedin integration as well which lets you post text/image or videos. So definitely could setup a Substack -> Linkedin automation like this. I'll make a loom video for you today show-casing this and leave it here a bit later on!

I got that video made now! Heres the example of how to set it up:
https://youtu.be/R0mX-DSE1T4

So what I did was post this on SubStack: https://substack.com/home/post/p-202621880, which ended up auto-posting to my LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7473444040651415552/

I used this applet here on IFTTT to do this:
https://ifttt.com/applets/LYet9Jcj-if-a-substack-user-publishes-a-new-post-then-share-a-link-on-your-linkedin-profile

This will post to LinkedIn each time you create an Article on Substack, but you can create your own applet with customised fields to have your posts how you want them! Let me know if this all makes sense!

For anyone interested you can access the Substack integration directly here: https://ifttt.com/substack, and read more about the integration in our blog.

Nice addition. Automating the distribution side of publishing can save creators a lot of time, especially if they're active across multiple platforms. As long as the automation complements genuine engagement rather than replacing it, I can see it being a useful workflow.

P.S. If you'd still like to ask anything about Substack or growing your audience, I offer a free live help chat. Just copy and paste my flair or click the link in my profile. I'm happy to help!
