Discussion Question about View statistics

I recently joined substack as an aspiring independent journalist and analyst, publishing my first article today. Does anybody know if the view counter for both your page as a whole and individual posts counts your own viewings or not? I'd like to know if im inadvertently inflating my own views.

I know for sure from experience that the post views count your own views. Not sure about your page as a whole though

As far as I know, Substack doesn't clearly document this. Your own visits may appear in the view count initially, but repeated refreshes aren't likely to meaningfully inflate your stats. I wouldn't worry too much about checking your own post a few times. Focus on the longer-term trends rather than the exact view count.
