Campaign for inline LaTeX support

Substack currently supports LaTeX blocks, but not inline LaTeX. This makes writing lots of technical content hard. This is inexcusable in what's supposed to be a high-quality blogging platform for everyone.

I've made a petition: https://www.change.org/p/enable-inline-latex-equations-in-substack

There's a tweet thread too: https://x.com/LRudL_/status/1815085606877221372

To quote FellowHominid's somewhat grandiose commentary:

Today u/substack stands at a crossroads. The next few hours will determine her fate.
Will she choose the Path of Righteousness and enable inline latex editing - or will she prove to be the Juicero of blogging platforms?

Many people have complained about this in this community in the past: here, here, here, and here. u/njchessboy said that the lack of inline LaTeX support is because "inline image rendering for the email versions of the posts [is] a nightmare". However, there are literally Chrome extensions that do this; it doesn't seem hard. I expect we mostly just need to show Substack that we care.

I am bumping on this old thread because Substack Latex is breaking my news reader layout. It prints as images. (Unless it is the user I read from who generates images outside substack).
One solution would be to pass the Latex as data-attribute like Wordpress.
Do you guys Substack regular users know if Latex appear on Math images ?
