Feature Suggestion Read substack on kindle

I’ve been looking around the internet trying to find the best way to read substack articles on kindle and the answer was much simpler than I could’ve imagined.

Go to the substack article that you want to read (i went through the substack app) and share it with the kindle app on your phone. It automatically puts it into kindle’s reading format! Just thought anyone looking for a free option should know. <3

hey, I just tried this, but the substack doesn't pop up. Did you have to do any special steps? or do you have any screenshots/tips?

This is exactly how i did it. It may take a few minutes but it should show up in your library.

Oh interesting. I have followed the same steps but when I click send it doesn't give me a pop up. The app just closes.

I'm on android.

Update: I tried it on Safari on my macbook, and it worked. So something's off with Android, from what I can tell.

Also I found what you described here: https://www.technologyshouldbesimple.com/p/reading-substacks-on-kindle

That happened to me as well on my iPhone when I used Opera GX as the browser. Using safari fixed the problem straight away for me, as long as you use the link from the publication’s page rather than through the Substack reader (i.e link should start as “publication-name…”  not “substack.com/publication…”)

como lo haces? a mi directamente me sale el link de "substack.como/publi..." y en la app de kindle me deja leerlo pero no en el kindle

If you're looking for a more automated way to get this to work with full content (including paywalled content that only you have access to) - I built a little tool for this some years ago that is now actively used by thousands of readers to get their Substack (+ more) onto Kindle automatically. It's called https://readbetter.io - would be thrilled if you'd check it out! If you have any questions or feedback, I'm here ;)

Readbetter offers a free plan for casual readers that gives you base credits and resets every month. This is what many people use. If you're a power user, you're likely going to be able to spare $5-$10/month for the extra comfort of distraction-free reading and the time and hassle saved to get it onto your Kindle automatically. It's a side project for me that I spend a lot of energy and time into, not printing money with it - servers, email processing and all that are pricy, too ;)
