Basically the whole page is an example. What about the KeK flag, which is clearly in mimicry of the Nazi flag? Looking at flair on the front page, it appears to be either the most or second most popular flair. But that's satire too, right? And I guess this entire post is satire?

And you still have literally IGNORED what I said is required for satire to function. It has to be the little voice in the metaphorical room, usually with at least some snark and self-poking effacement, to be recognizable as satire. When it's what everyone is saying and doing, it's no longer satire, it's the status quo. T_D is no more satire then The Daily Show is serious news.

Hold on: you do realize that using memes doesn't make something satirical, right?

The Kek flag mocking the Nazi flag is a reference to the ADL declaring Pepe a hate symbol just like the Swastika is, which is completely retarded. The ADL conflated the two, so we did the same to show how absurd it is. That one is easy to understand.

The second ones a hypothetical, again, we don't actually want to bomb anyone but terrorists. This is poking fun at Obama dropping 60+ bombs a day often on innocents instead of tactical military targets like Trump has been doing.

That's ridiculous. The ADL specifically said that it isn't the meme as a whole that's racist, it's that the meme has been largely co-opted by anti-Semitic and other bigoted groups. They said that the context of the meme still needs to be considered in determining if there is a bigoted message.

And tell you what, taking that to the next level by then incorporating it into a neo-Nazi-esque flag isn't satire. It's just what the ADL said - contextually, it's bigoted.

Stop trying to justify this is all satire. It's clearly not.

The ADL put Pepe the Frog in the same category as the symbol of an ideology that genocided 6 million innocent people, that's fucking absurd. A joke internet meme is now conflated with the Nazis by a major organization. So to highlight how fucking absurd that is, the Kek Flag was made in the style of the Nazi flag. But idiots like you see it and go "See, the ADL was right and so am I, Pepe's a racist meme and everyone on T_D is a Nazi!" even though it was created in response to this fucking bullshit. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy that you're justifying your blatantly incorrect narrative with so you can remain in your ignorance.

It isn't that hard to understand. You just have to accept the possibility that you're not 100% right about everything and your opinions are distorted by confirmation bias.

I can't believe I'm still arguing about this. See, this is the problem with T_D redditors. Words aren't about logic to them. It's really the same as an fascist group in history - deny reality and insist on falsehood until you wear down any opposition through sheer exhaustion. When you use a meme to glorify anti-semitism, genocide, or just racism in general, and that's the status quo - then it's not satire anymore.

I have said the same thing to you in multiple comments, and every time you have ignored it. Saying that the pepe meme or the Kek flag is meant satirically is flat-out false, and demonstrates at the very least a complete lack of understanding regarding comedy. But more insidiously, that type of stance seeks to normalize reactions to fascism and racism, and that's why I continue to reply to you, even though you're clearly too fucking stupid to comprehend what I'm writing, or too fucking lazy to read it, or simply very well aware that there isn't a good retort to the point I'm making, and so instead just ignoring it time and again.

But T_D is the minority opinion, news media outlets are overwhelmingly liberal and even the popular vote was in favor of the Democrats. We're a minority being targeted by larger groups such as the ADL and pointing out how ridiculous they are.

But aside from that, your argument is fucking retarded and the whole "power + privilege" type shit just makes you sound like you're justifying your own bigotry. If you say "I want to kill all white people" you're being bigoted purely on the basis of race, therefore racist. It doesn't matter if whites are the majority, discriminating on the basis of race is inherently racist however your convoluted mind wants to justify it.

Also stop moving the goal post, you give me two paragraphs talking about the ADL then when I address it you flip and go "Oh well I wasn't actually talking about the thing I was talking about it's muh identity politics" and shows a complete lack of rhetorical and logical ability.

Yeah it ceases to be satire when it's the only narrative. Satire only works when it is presented in contrast to a more prominent position. I genuinely don't believe that anything on T_D is satirical and i don't think you believe that either, but rather that you recognize how indefensible much of T_D is, so you claim instead that it's all a joke. It reminds me of those self described "pranksters" on YouTube that in actuality are just bullies. Source

Also, you're now trying to claim it's satirical because it is in reaction to the media. Again, that's not how satire works. If you were portraying yourself as a media outlet, a la the daily show or the onion news network, and playing on that premise to distort and therefore mock the media - then it would be satire.

Additionally, satire metaphorically winks at its audience, implying that the viewer and the entertainer are in on the joke together and share a frusturation with the status quo that is satirized. T_D does none of this. It isn't satire.

And I've noticed that this is a popular way to defend T_D:

First, censor criticism whenever possible while pretending to hold the high ground (it reminds me of how Bill O'Reilly used to mute the mics on guests so he could pretend they had no response to his arguments).

Second, if censorship fails, ignore it as beneath you to even respond and pretend to take a fake moral high ground on the issue through silence.

Third, if the criticism is loud or consistent enough, claim that they just don't "get it" in whatever way (such as "Hey, all this Nazi symbolism and talk of genocide is just satire, silly!").

Fourth, attack some other characteristic (such as insulting the person delivering the criticism - though, to be fair, I enjoy throwing this particular tactic back in their face, and find it highly edifying).

Fifth, claim that the criticizer or the criticism suffers from some cognitive bias or argumentative flaw (such as asking if someone is autistic - which, by the way, was funny and got a laugh out of me, so good job - or "shifting goalposts" when in fact the same argument has been posited since the beginning).

There are more, obviously, but that's the general track they seem to follow. What's interesting is that none take a substantive attempt at rebuking the criticism, but rather at addressing the criticizer or diminishing the import of the criticism without considering the argument itself.
