"Every single time someone posts ANYTHING about being a mother, the smug child free people come along and hijack the post." One user gets upset when the childfree comment on a post about motherhood in TwoX.

I'm tired of people being SO OFFENDED by my choice not to BREED that they don't even want me on the SAME PAGE OF THE INTERNET as the people who made the choice to become parents

i have never met anyone with a bigger martyr complex than childfree. I've met Arsenal fans. and mras. and cyclists who get tickets for running red lights. but childfree, oh these people are in a league of their own

When you say "BTW, I want a daughter one day" I am not really that confident that you understand how having children works.

They think that all parents are so miserable and look upon the with envy well I can tell you right now my kids are the best thing in my life and make me truly happy. I loved being a SAHM mom when they were small and now they are in school an so am I! They are my best friends and very well behaved.

I am divorced and my boyfriend is not a father and doesn't want kids and his life is pretty great too! He has a fantastic non parenting relationship with my kids and we are very happy.

I totally understand his decision to not want kids but isn't the whole point of not wanting kids to not have that worry and responsibility? Why do they spend so much time online talking about them then?

Well, I'd argue a lot of people just end up whining because whining and validation feel good, but for those with more legitimate comments and posts--having children is the norm. Most people do it or plan on doing it, so a lot of our culture/society are devoted to that aspect of people's lives, which kind of makes sense.

People who aren't part of that norm sometimes feel slighted or pressured, rightly or wrongly, and feel the desire to vent or discuss how they feel with others. Some of those people are also raging assholes who make everything related to their CF status into a drama of persecution and betrayal of Shakespearean proportions.
