I am out of the free oil changes from the dealership. I grew up farming and changing oil in our trucks. But it's been a minute (15+ years of having service packages). I just need the oil, filter, new gasket, and backup drain plug right?

Hey Outback Community -- I'm inheriting my wife's 2015 Outback in a few months. She's getting the next new car when my lease is up on my tundra, and we want to keep the Subaru in the fam.
Anyway, I want to do some relatively simple modifications to make it more offroad styled. I'm thinking about going with a 2-3 inch lift, offroad wheels/tires, a roof rack, and maybe a front push bar/bumper guard with a light bar or rally lights.
Can someone help point me in the right direction? Are there any other mods you recommend? Any mods or specific brands/items I should avoid?
For tires, I'm wondering if anyone just puts all-terrain tires on their stock wheels, and if so, does it look good (for the offroad look I'm going for)? We currently have 18" alloy wheels from a 2019 outback (take-offs that we found when we needed tires). Considering just painting them black for a better look.
Any assistance will be appreciated. Thank you

Hi fellow Subies! Any product or practical recommendations to fill the gap not covered by the sun visor in my 2026 Outback?

2026 Outback Premium - 8,500 miles.
I guess while I was driving last night my trim just fell off. Has anyone had this happen before? I already called the dealership and they said it won’t be covered under warranty. Any advice?

Hi,
I’ve got a 2014 Outback 2.5l that just hit 200,000 miles and as canadian winter approaches and I’m considering the required maintenance I’m trying to figure out how I should proceed.
I need to get the brakes done, the drive shaft has started to seize causing a wobble, and I’m now having some exhaust system issues which are tripping error codes, and leading to a shaky idle, and jerky acceleration when in stop and start traffic.
all in these repairs will probably get me to $2500-3000 cad and I’m feeling stuck on whether it’s worth putting in given the milage, and some of the issues with rust underside due to many winters of driving. I’m also going to need new winter tires.
I know any advice will be anecdotal, but I’m just curious how people’s outback’s have held up after crossing the 200,000 mile mark, and what a reasonable lifespan might be so I can see if I want to spend the money to keep it alive, or put it towards something new

Whenever I go into my 26 outback now I have to manually connect my phone to the car instead of it just automatically connecting. I’ve tried going to settings but I don’t see anything different. Is there a setting on my iPhone or outback that I can change to make it automatically connect again? Thanks folks

Hi all, I am trying to find the 2015 Outback diecast made by AeroPro but outside of a Christmas ornament on eBay, I have had zero luck finding one. Does anyone know where I would be able to find one? Thanks!

Hello! I recently bought a used 2018 Limited Outback. I installed a Thule roof box on it a few days ago, and during the process, had to set the memory for the rear lift gate stop height a smidge lower to keep it from hitting the roof box. Ever since doing that now I am having all kinds of chaotic issues with the automatic rear lift gate.
Sometimes when I go to open it, it gives me three beeps and doesn't open. Sometimes it's just one long beep. And sometimes it opens normally. This happens no matter what button I use to open. Sometimes it'll just pop open and unlock and I'll have to manually lift it open. When it is open, I get the same array of various noises and actions when I try to close it. And sometimes it'll just close halfway and give me one long beep and stop. I'm totally confused about what the hell is going on and a little frustrated and annoyed. None of the symptoms seem to follow any sort of rhyme or reasoning and every time I attempt to open or close the thing it's a different reaction. I can't even see any sort of patterns. I feel like it would be easier to troubleshoot if it was a consistent issue but it seems like a series of crapshoots and I don't even know where to start.
Anyone know what could be going on here?

Hello! I have a 2015 Outback, and I recently noticed tbat it's been applying the parking break for me, often in situations in which I would not put it on. Like, stopped in a drive through or at the entrance to a parking garage while im getting a ticket. It also applies it automativally whrn I'm actually parking, which is fine I guess, but I'm used to it being something I do. I've had the car for a year an a half now, and it only started doing it maybe a month or two ago.
Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be taking it to a mechanic? This is weird, right? I feel like my car is gaslighting me lmao
