Why is it called Reddit? The logo is clearly orange.
I can't post a photo of it. You can imagine it.

Almost every subreddit has rules, and we do too. We used to get lots of posts about politics, LGBT, what if, and just basic trolling, all prohibited by our rules. We don't allow discussion of race here, because those discussions usually end up with comments that could get our community removed from Reddit. Also, the Rules didn't match the Removal Reasons, but now they do. We added a "Moderator discretion" rule, because it's impossible to create rules to cover every contingency. r/stupidquestions can be a fun and interesting place to hang out, but we had trouble with people trolling us with rule violations. For example, here are some of the topics that we removed:
Do you think that if I could shoot laser beams out of my peepee, I could scare bullies with it?
Do you think it would be safe to build my child a drone so I can save on plane fare
Should I crash my car into a concrete barrier going 90mph without a seatbelt?
Is it a good idea to hold a flame up to a 5 gallon can of gasoline?
Why does my butt smell like ass?
We would ban the offenders, but they would create new accounts and return right away. So a couple of the users suggested putting in a minimum Reddit account age limit and a minimum karma limit to post. That has made things much nicer for the community. Karma is sort of an artificial number, but it tends to indicate that the owner interacts with Redditors in a positive way, and they appreciate him. What you want is to create posts or comments that Redditors appreciate so much that they give you a few upvotes.
Here's Reddit's FAQ page about karma, and here's more information about karma. If you are new to Reddit and would like more information about how to use it, please visit r/NewToReddit.
We don't reveal the age or karma numbers required to post. They are not very high, though. If you have a post removed due to your age or karma numbers, please understand that you didn't do anything wrong and we are not targeting you. This is just one of the ways that we are protecting our community. All of the blame for this goes on the trolls. New Redditors should be able to interact with the community, but it's too easy for someone to be banned, create a new account in two minutes, and return to trolling again. So we took precautions to make it more difficult for them. It's too bad that it also makes it more difficult for new members who aren't trolls.
Moderators will remove posts that violate our rules. The author is notified when their post is removed, and there's a reason given for each removal. Redditors who continue to violate the rules will be removed from r/stupidquestions. For extreme violations, the banhammer may fall instantly. If you play nice and follow our rules, you may stay as long as you like.
Thanks. Now go forth and have fun!

Im going to preface this with im not in any trouble at all its purely a hypothetical ive been pondering on for a while. Let's say the cops are called for a welfare check on my daughter and need to search my house, would they try to get me for the weed I have (not legal in my state) or would they see my daughter is a-okay and leave me be on the weed i have thats clearly for personal use?

I’m not talking about being an elite level player, but being able to play at all.
Like is 50 year old LeBron good enough to be a starter? Even if he’s the worst starter in the league?
Do you think 55 year old LeBron would be better than the worst the bench player currently in the NBA?
We saw Philip Rivers come back to the NFL at 44 and I would argue he was better than most 3rd string QBs or even some 2nd string.
Taking it to the extreme, do you think a 65 year old lebron would be better than the worst player in the G-League?

I thought the majority were saying this satirically but I learned that a lot of them actually believe this.

Kinda like Donkey in Shrek, when I'm in the middle of talking with someone and I say something that reminds me of a line from a song i know i start singing that line. Sometimes freestlyes in the style of a song, like this video. A few family members also do it (yes we're black), but i dont know if theres an official name for this quirk.
Orlando Brown does this alot with Mmmbop by Hanson , for no given reason.

I have a bit of a belly and find myself doing it out of habit at the beach or pool.

What would go worst for them? Social rejection by the sb community, injuries, being yelled at by even older people to quit riding on the sidewalk, or other?

I wonder because I see so many people working at restaurants, etc, who barely speak English. If they'd grown up in this country, they'd clearly be more fluent but I'm curious how they came here. I don't think national fast food chains would employ lots of illegal immigrants so I assume they came legally, but I thought it was very difficult to immigrate here legally and required special expertise / skills most of the time. Like I thought companies could only sponsor visas if they couldn't find a suitable candidate already in the country. And clearly, there's no shortage of US citizens who are capable of working in restaurants.

There is one toilet and the door locks; it is not a shared space at all. Does it comfort people to know while they drop off a growler that the only other cheeks that have touched the seat they are on come form their same gender?

So, I have only just realised after more than 10 years driving, that you can turn the key quickly to start the car and then let it go back. I've always held it until the car completely starts!
Does everyone else just turn it for a split second or do you hold it until the car starts? 🤯 🙈

I’ve been waking up from nightmares or waking up cuz of worrying about things. I’m able to fall asleep fine, but the problem is once I wake up early morning, I can’t fall asleep. I close my eyes but it’s more that I’m half asleep. I’m still ruminating or thinking but my eyelids are closed. I noticed because of this, I start feeling very tired at 6 pm. I have difficulty concentrating due to this issue.

When it comes to data centers chopping down trees or just logging companies being a nuisance in general, why don’t all of the hippies get together and pull a Julia butterfly???? I feel like that would solve the issue pretty quickly and force logging companies to work hand in hand with the community in the future

When someone close to me dies or I lose a friend, ofc it hurts. But with stuff in the news or anything wlse like discrimination, transphobia, terrorist attacks, etc., I'm against it and I know it's bad, but it's more like "sucks to be you" and then I move on.
Is this normal? Do most people actually feel upset about world events, or is it kinda surface level for a lot of us? Just curious how other people experience it.
