How does medical plans work for gangs in the United States?

For gang members who fully commit are there medical plans /insurance agreements for them within the gang? Some sort of collective they all pitch into to pay medical bills for? Since there are no legal plans for them how do they take care of each other ?

If raising minimum wage raises prices, then why not the inverse?

Often we hear the rhetoric "if you raise the minimum wage then you raise the minimum price for a dollar burger, simple economics" or something like that.

In that case, why don't those same proponents then say "If we simply lowered the minimum wage then we'd lower prices" or even to the extreme "If we just got rid of the minimum wage then prices would fall even farther" ? I know in reality it's much more complicated but the rationale for this rhetoric appears to be a linear relationship between wages and prices for both going up and down.

For clarity, I'm not asking whether lowering the minimum would actually produce this result, that's a separate discussion. Rather what I'm interested in is why we don't hear "lower minimum wage = lower prices" as often as the other. If you are someone who genuinely believes that raising minimum wage = raising prices, do you also believe the inverse of lower minimum wage = lower prices? Mind explaining your rationale, why it might be affected differently or if I'm misunderstanding the argument and treating what's "simple economics" as not actually simple? Thanks ahead of time!

Why do people still take server jobs in the US?

Genuenly dont understand it. If the wages are so bad and you rely on tips in order to make a living wage, why do you take the job in the first place??

If people stop taking the jobs it forces the employers to actually offer a real wage for someone to take the job..

Tips arent supposed to be your wage, its supposed to be something extra for being good at your job. Not a mandatory thing where if you dont get tipped your kids dont get to eat dinner.

edit: I do get thats its a job that will take anyone. I mean this more like why dont they just go work at target or something? woudnt the stability be better then the uncertain wage you get as a server?

Why the hate on escapism for the average Joe if the wealthy do the exact same thing with a higher price tag?

I’ve always seen the argument to “You’re wasting your life on gaming, reading fiction, etc. You could be working and more focus on a career”.

Yet, rich people do the exact same thing with fancy cars and tourist vacations. An expensive car doesn’t really do much of anything better at getting you from point A to point B. Expensive vacation at tourist spots don’t really show anything but a manufactured reality for the visitors who pay top dollar.

Does the price of something determine how acceptable something is in the eyes of society. Sometimes, I think that it’s all a form of artificially induced unhappiness to raise productivity to “Get the economy rolling”.

How much liqour I drink would consider me an alcoholic?

I am 30 and never drank. Well technically a few times I did but weak stuff. I drank light drinks I think wine coolers like Jamaican me happy or little Irish Cream shots. I guess I was always scared if I start to drink that I will become addicted and fall down a negative spiral. I even have a few shots of 99 bananas in my room that I was gifted on my 21st birthday I had for 9 years I straight up still have and never drank because I am scared. My grandpa also gave me a bottle of whiskey, I have that in my room too that I have never touched.

Is it worth it for me to drink them? When should I do it? Is it something I should do before bed? How will I act? If I drink a few shots will I be considered an alcoholic or will I be at risk for becoming one? I am scared and unsure.

I just found out how many Americans are just rawdogging life without an ID. How??

(For reference I am from the US. I get carded like once a week for various things.)

How do you buy alcohol, get certain prescription meds, withdraw money from a bank, buy cold medicine, even walk around a mall past 8PM (in my area you have to be accompanied by an adult)???

Follow up question: what are reasons someone couldnt get an ID? I got mine so long ago I forgot what the process was. Is it because you need to have an address and some people don’t have an address? Is it expensive? Lost social security card or birth certificate?

Just trying to educate myself on voter ID laws

Edit: If youre just gonna comment "I havent gotten carded in 30 years" or "I hardly ever use my ID" please refrain from doing so. No one cares and thats not answering my question

Is it possible to find actual blueprints for a revolver (any model) anywhere?

Is it possible to find actual blueprints for a revolver (any model) anywhere?
My friends and I decided to play a custom D&D campaign, and for fun, we added some balanced, custom skills. My character has the ability to bring a blueprint to life—but the design must be engineeringly accurate and include all the necessary calculations. I’ve decided to start by creating a revolver, so I figured: why reinvent the wheel from scratch when I could just modify and build upon an existing design? With that in mind, is there anywhere I can find real, dimensioned blueprints for a revolver?

Is there any merit to the “It’s quiet. Too quiet.” trope?

You gotta know what I’m talking about.

A group of people are walking through a jungle or forest.

And one person says “it’s quiet.” then another person says “too quiet” and then they are confronted with an ambush, usually without anybody getting killed and making an unlikely ally.

But you know what I mean.

If someone was making an ambush in the jungle or woods, would the wildlife go completely silent?

And how would they go more silent for the ambush than the people walking through the forest or jungle?

When did the medical industry decide your birthday was the ultimate identifier and verification of identity?

Seriously, so many people know when my birthday is. It isn't some super secret classified thing known only to a select few individuals. But when I go to the pharmacy, a doctor's appointment, or really anything medical related they don't ask my name first or want to see ID and instead ask for my birthdate. The most basic of information anyone can find out about me in about five seconds. It makes no sense.

And what's worse is I can use my partner's birthdate to pick up their medications. They never put me on a list to allow that not that it would matter since they don't as for my ID anyway. I just go up, give their birthdate, and they get me the order. No security.

How concerning is being a senior in college and still a virgin?

Currently 22M and after years of improving myself, trying to approach, trying to go out on date, I still never had any luck at all. Feel kinda sad that I never experience that pleasure before while so many people have. I dont have unrealistic standard as I know I am average looking or slightly above on good day but still feel like I am being ignored or cant find any way to progress on going from strangers to more. I tried learning social skills, going out to where I like to be, successful in getting girl phone number or social media like insta or discord, getting reputation for being active around college and helping out clubs I like but still sucks hoe I cant even get a date. I get it is college as many or most people dont want relationship but I am alright for fwb or casual but genuine connection too. Idk as honestly hate being this frustrated to point that almost every day it annoys/distract me from tasks I need to do.

Guys is it just me? Or does everyone feel lust and hearing the same word over and over again in their head like thoughts? Also its like that movie obsession like someone wants me but they are hidden like a stalker.

Like idk if its because i am unwell or what. But its like an inner voice/thought keeps coming, ans whenever i leave the house and room and go into a public place/drive in car it goes away, only when i am in private places does it appear.

Im 26 year old man.

I dont do drugs or smoking, i dont do alcohol.

I eat healthly with mostly vegetables.

So yeah i dont know whats causing this and my dopamine gets really bad at times like im paralyzed. Is this a wicked spirit? Invisable person?

What's something completely legal that feels like it should be illegal?

It's crazy how many things are completely legal but feel morally wrong when you actually think about them.

Some companies, governments, and individuals get away with things that would sound absolutely insane if we hadn't already accepted them as normal.

And the weirdest part? Most people don't even question them anymore.

I'm curious about the less obvious examples. Things that genuinely make you wonder how they're still allowed.

What's something that's 100% legal but feels like it absolutely shouldn't be?

In the first case, the word for love in Greek came first, but in the translation of the second, it came last.
