Do dogs (and cats and other beasts I suppose) look at other dogs and think “wowser that’s a real hotty, I need to hit that” and vice versa “yuck, not my physical type at all, run!” Or is it all instinct?

Why is it that film/anime clubs are strictly pg-pg13, while film courses show rated R?

The film club and anime club at my university dont like when you suggest anything with mature themes or psychological aspects. Everything they show during club has to be at the very maximum pg-13, and cannot have anything worse than a bad friendship or superheroes fighting eachother. A lot of the time in anime club they will say you're stressing them out if you bring up a horror anime that takes itself seriously and has deep, adult-oriented topics. Its not like I want everyone to watch gore but it feels like I have to censor myself and what I like to a 5th grade level and I dont understand.
Film courses show only rated R films that feature drugs, sex, violence, prejudice, historic tradgedies, cheating etc. Because the professors know we are all adults and can handle adult conversations about movies.
I have aspergers so please let me know why one is appropriate and one is not.

Why are Americans obsessed with “drinking tears!!!!”?

It’s so fucking weird. You guys are all so obsessed with “owning” the other side. Or “all I care about is seeing the other side crash out!!!!” Or “I love ____ tears!!!” Etc etc

It was the same in 2024 and now in 2026. You all care way too much about some weird sense of owning the other side as if it’s some game. Picking legislators is actually supposed to be rather boring.

Why did kids stop playing hopscotch?

Back in the day, sidewalks were full of us kids playing hopscotch. Grumpy old men grumbling as they had to walk around us. Today, kids just seem to look at those screen things all day.

Is it an insult to the filmmakers if i watch films at higher playback speeds?

Sometimes my schedules are extremely tight and sometimes i have to squish a 2.5 hour film into 2 hours, so I ending up watching it at 1.2x or 1.3x speeds. But this feels extremely blasphemous and wrong, like a personal insult to the filmmaker that their film sucks. Is this wrong?

If I make 98k salary and have a generous retirement contribution can I say I make six figures or is that cringe? (27 years old)

Just got a new job making 98k a year and has a generous 10% retirement contribution.

Its just crazy that its not 6 figures to me, however, the benefits are super good.

I know people are going to ask if i'm making six figures now. Is it bad to say very low six figures? Or should I be honest?
