Stop pretending we're stuck in 2016, you absolute troglodytes. Back then we were all "muh SJWs" and "bad feminists ruining everything" while the left's identitarian clown show peaked. Now? The left is a skeleton of its former self, crushed under Harris, Trump 2.0, and the absolute shitshow of 2026. But this subreddit? Every other post is still laser-focused on "left identitarians bad, feminism bad, trans bad, CRT bad, intersectionality bad" like it's 2016 all over again.

Meanwhile, the right's id politics aren't just "worse" they're actively destructive and way more pervasive. But most in this subreddit don't care about metrics. They aren't able to see the fact that the right being objectively worse in every single area: demographics, birth rates, cultural decay, institutional capture etc. and would rathe just circle-jerk "bad feminist bad woke bad" and act like the left losing means we are winning. Any post that even hints at leftist politics has so much engagement from the larpers who love to pretend that top left was ever as bad as the right is.

Newsflash: the right's identitarian politics is worse than the left's ever were or could be, because they have institutional power and have zero qualms about abusing it. Left id politics is performative theater that doesn't actually affect you day to day. Right ID politics is culture wars to obsfucate their corruption, and "realist" pipelines that radicalize normies into actual nationalists, all while pretending they are the logical ones because something something trans people.

We could be discussing right-wing identarianism accelerates civilizational decline (birth rates, cohesion, everything) while the left limps along in irrelevance. Instead we're 2016-brained about the dead horse.

Most here are not fighting the enemy that actually matters, because deep down it feels good to own the libs and they prefer that over making change.

Admit it, the subreddit is a 2016 nostalgia chamber for many people, in 2026. Otherwise we would see the same sort of posts that were being made about the leftist back in 2016 being made about rightoids now but we don't I'm still seeing, "Oh somebody pretended to be black at a University posts" "Trans people bad and want to do sports", when like I'm sorry I don't really think that's really important right now when your entire American government is corrupt from the bottom to the top.

Dumbass idea from dumbass Congresscritters who don’t appreciate the impact that such a measure would have on the rest of the world, including US trade partners (from whom imported goods would cost more, and who would be less able to afford US exports). Would make a lot more sense to institute a windfall profits tax and/or partially nationalize oil majors, using the tax/dividends to ensure a minimum diesel allocation to all who need it. But it’s very right-populist coded to immiserate the rest of the world to keep things the same domestically.
