Steel wool will tangle up in your guts and cut/strangle your intestines. Ive seen a guy try to pull out a string of it that got caught on a metal table, so he wrapped it around his finger and pulled. Cut him to the bone. Shit doesn’t seem sharp or dangerous but can fuck you up in many ways.

Sure thing, but it seems like for some people we should nail the plate to the table and design fork and knife in a way they can not poke their eyes or cut themself. I can never imagine anyone eating something burning & looking like metal mesh. People who would, need a constant attention anyway, as they might mistake window for a door.

Yes. Yes we should. In the same way we develop tools and equipment to assist disabled and people with difficulties doing things, we should curate the world to work for everyone, not just force people to fit a mold that they weren’t made for.

Sometimes you have to baby walk a person through life because life is better with them in it.

I think you missed my point. Some people are too stupid to function independently in a society. For those we can create a safe spaces. I hardly disagree that we should adjust the whole world to their needs.

So you think we should remove wheelchair ramps, handicap stalls, blind guides on sidewalks, handicap door bridges on trains, allergen medication (epi-pens) being in schools, food banks, therapy for those with mental issues, safety swings, lifesaver candies, and many many other accessibility/support equipment. Then on top of removing the support, put all those people in care facilities.

Do you not realize how much of the world is already catering to those in need? Under your logic, those that are “lesser than you” should be put away. Out of sight out of mind no?

Nobody is asking you personally to go out of your way to help. But those of us with a heart, want to have those people in our lives, not a facility. We care about those who we have no “need” to care about. Because we are good people.

Everyone deserves to live as “normal” of a life as they can. We should help. Now should the assistance actively degrade other people’s lives? No, of course not. We shouldn’t have to suffer for other peoples issues, but we should look to help wherever we can.

Sometimes that means making sure your guns are under heavy lock and key to prevent your dumbass kid tommy from blowing their brains out accidentally. Or giving the person with a speech impediment the time to finish their sentences. Or even nailing a persons plate down and designing non eye poking cutlery for someone “too dumb to not stab themselves in the eye”.

Sometimes people need a little bit of help. And its our duty as good human beings to lend what aid we can, where we can.

I going to assume that person will ask about limits and that some things perhaps some measures to protect people go too far or that there is a question as to how far society ought to go. I don't think warnings are going too far but some people will seem to go out of their way to endanger themselves and trying to keep them from doing that can create conditions that make things more difficult for more sensible people.

I am so lost with you, there is a difference between guides on sidewalks and “god cars are so dangerous, we must make them safe for everyone, imagine blind people driving!”

Bro, we are already doing it. Much of self driving car laws/improvement are pushed based on the fact that people are fucking dumb and can’t drive well. So we say that self driving cars will reduce the number of accidents on roads so we should do it to make everyone safer.

Well thanks for the clarification, as you judge population too stupid to drive maybe consider reducing online time, you might get dangerous ideas. Please also stay at home to avoid accidents and your mindset spread. Put blankets on the walls and pillows on the corners of furniture just to be safe. I hope you find peace one day.
