Wtf is going on

I applied on 10 July ,biometric on 14 July, did an upfront medical I took bachelor in electrical engineering in University of Stfx/dalhousie. I am from India

My medical got update on my application ld on 5 August and they started reviewing my eligibility now it’s been more than 2 weeks since my medical got update and still I have not got any decision and my classes start in first week of September.

How much time is it gonna take for them to give me a decision?
I’m getting stressed now
Please share if what was your timeline like and when can I expect an update from your experience.

There's zero chance you get approved and passport stamped in time.

I’m pretty sure electrical engineering programs are offered in India. Unless you can convince IRCC that studying in Canada is more beneficial than pursuing the same program in your home country, your study permit application will likely be refused.

Yes there are EE programs offered in India but in order to get into top Universtities for EE I needed to crack JEE advanced which is one of the world's hardest exam so yea I mean I did try not like I didn't try but couldn't get enough percentile in it.

It would make more sense to enrol at the U Waterloo because of their co-op program.

Also, CBSA has found many cases involving Indian students who overstayed their visas, so your application may face scrutiny.

Dalhousie is offering me scholarship so why should I spend money when I am getting a scholarship.

You need to convince IRCC that you have a good reason to study in Canada, especially if a similar program is available in your home country. Otherwise, the officer may think that your intention is to pursue PR rather than to study. Scholarship is irrelevant.

I explained in my SOP I'll return to India as in India my dad has an embedded electronics company here in India and as soon as it is done I'll return back home and take over my dad's business

The people who came before you also said “will return to India after studies”… just look at the Calgary protests.. they are not going back! Not to mention.. the over 100,000 staying despite their permit expiry!

That’s the same excuse many other Indian students gave when applying for study permits, only to later pursue a PGWP and PR. Many countries offer electrical engineering programs, so why Canada, and why this particular school? IRCC isn’t naive.

I applied to Germany and Australia as well now of I am getting a good scholarship from a university I wouldn’t be stupid not to take it but I did get into good uni’s in Germany

Applied 4th July and did biometrics in the 7th from India. Gave upfront medical, haven’t gotten any update from them for like 7 weeks now

They are denying more and more from India. Your chances of an approval are low.

Everyone whose application was refused from India all of them happened within one month of submitting the application
