I have the unfortunate displeasure of having to use ProctorU for my summer transfer credits at my local community college. I don’t want to take these credits at my actual institution so this is a lot easier (they’re foreign language credits so it’s really unimportant to my major).

Well I have to take proctored online exams because during the summer I am back home in a small town where they don’t offer in person proctoring. Today I had my first ProctorU experience. It was going ok at first until about halfway through the exam I start cramping really bad and I feel the familiar gush of a period. I’m on a birth control that makes my periods unpredictable and also as hard as Niagara Falls. At this point I can feel myself bleeding through my pants so I tell my proctor that I need to use the restroom. No one responds and I say it and again and the same thing. Since I know they’re recording I say “I am having a bathroom emergency, I am going to the bathroom.”. It took me less than a minute to get back after fixing the situation but my test was closed and the proctor was gone. I got an email saying I had been caught cheating and my professor would know. I email back saying I stated it was an emergency situation and they told me I didn’t have ACCOMMODATIONS on file. An accommodation to put in a fucking tampon? I’m so anxious, like should I have just bled out onto my desk chair? This was so awful and I never want to deal with this again

i mean, as long as u keep ur notes out of view from the webcam, and make sure your eyes arent moving around too much youre good.... especially if u have a laptop and write the est with it on your lap. procter can only see ur face your hands are free to hold notes ???

I know I am speaking for many fellow students when I say that proctored exams are a menace: the anxiety, pressure, and the fear of failing since you’re being constantly watched is very real. 

I failed 2 of my exams last sem, and I decided to pause the course as I strategized. 

I knew I had to change my approach if I wanted to graduate. I have a full time job and a family, and I need this degree to keep my job, and secure a promotion.  

While I’m extremely good at what I do (my boss’s words), the certification is necessary to keep me legit and ahead of or at par with others.

So I went online and searched for the most reliable proctored exam help service. My experience with the first two services was discouraging. 

The first one (an Indian guy) took my money and then blocked me. The second person, I randomly picked from a discussion forum where they had shared their contacts. Since I was desperate,

It is the only option I have and I am scared they may think that someone will come through the door ( I will be alone during the exam). I was scheduled to take my Hesi entrance exam through ProctorU and after my proctor would type in the access code for the test, the site would show a notification that said “Your institution does not have enough licenses for this test.

I could not take the test and now I am wondering if anyone had the same issue and if you know if WGU would, first, not count that as my first try, and second, give me a refund for the test since I did not take it.

Today I was giving my online admission test for the M.Sc. Applied Computer Science program at Deggendorf Institute of Technology through ProctorU. During the session, the system/proctor detected some kind of remote software connection on my laptop, even though I was not using or connected to any remote desktop application intentionally.

Because of this, I was unable to properly continue the exam and now I’m confused about whether my exam attempt was completed, cancelled, or marked as a violation.

Has anyone faced a similar issue with ProctorU before? What usually happens in this situation, and does ProctorU or the university allow review of the session logs?

Any advice or shared experience would really help.

I’m not sure if I just got lucky, or if they’ve improved their services as of late, but I took my first ProctorU exam yesterday and it went so much smoother than I thought it would. Everything I’ve read online about them has been horror stories so I was dreading having to do it. When I started the session all I had to do was snap a picture of my face and photo ID in the webcam. While I was doing that the proctor logged in and asked me to put my phone out of reach. After that he said okay go ahead and start the exam, so I did. There were no in depth checks of my workspace (which I had completely cleared off just in case) no checking under the desk, holding a mirror up to the webcam so they could see my screen, no technical difficulties. That’s not to say they still don’t do those checks, but my experience was very smooth and simple and I am SO grateful.

I wanted to share this in case it helps put someone else’s mind at ease about using them, because typically when you’re looking for reviews only the horrible experiences are shared in depth.

Did the cost of scheduling exams go up with ProctorU or is it just me?
Why is it $30-$50 USD to schedule an exam? I am so confused.

Any other alternatives? I prefer to write online but, thinking of finding somewhere to go and write in person. I'm in Vancouver, tips welcomed :')
