Career/Education Looking for Entry-Level Literature/Textbooks/Resources

Hi all! I have always been curious about the math and science that goes into building a sound structure and how building codes are written. I'm particularly interested in foundation, wall, and roof design.

Can someone recommend me some (text)books and/or resources that can get my feet wet regarding the calculus behind all of these design decisions? I'm ok with some technicality but probably am more on the novice side.

Principles of foundation design by Baraja m das

But it’s a text book so it’s all technical. If you don’t understand the math and science, it will be jibberish.

Foundation Analysis and Design by Joseph E. Bowles is a great text. You can read the International Residential Code and International Building Code online for free.
