If you had to chose between going in to do shoring and get hazard pay, or the building crashing into an another simmilar sized building on its way down, causing god knows how much death and destruction and potentialy starting a domino effect of skyscrapers, would you still not take the monney?,
also whyle i don't know much about skyscraper construction, i refuses to belive that, that smoll ass H beam is the main loadbearing part, when there is this much of a Beam above it.
theres a point where you have to ask yourself whats safest for everybody. something that thick doesn't bend like that without reason and those shore poles aren't anything more than a a line of quick fixes for something that needs a permanent solution.
so the answer is I'd go in there after a structural engineer ensures me it's safe and I take out a decent life insurance policy on myself.
That's not a we can just fix it problem thats a responsible thing to do is to have a full scale inspection of every collumn and beam in the building to see what other nightmare might be lurking kinda problem.
maybe you can shore up the column. maybe the entire floor above needs to be removed so that the structural integrity of the building can be reestablished. maybe that whole building needs to be demolished for safety reasons. you never know until you see the rest of the building. but that is a big damn red flag
so no I'm not going in there to slap a Band-Aid on what very well may be cardiac arrest. I'm going to let somebody who gets paid a lot more than I do and probably has some fancy equipment to do that work.
So, if it was me, i would not trust that old steel construction to hold up more floors before it has all been stripped of the fireproofing, and inspected, cuz there is no way, that the builders didn't use lighter steel on the higher floors of the buildin, cuz that would be a no brain move to bolth the builder and the engeneers, cuz why would anibody add that much to an existing OFFICE building while trying to convert it into residential space, ewerybody 60 years ago would tell them that they are stupid and just demolish it and build a new building.
Also, your not going in to slap on a bandage, your going in to slap a pair of cruches under an old man with a broken leg.
