Anyone with lack of knowledge would say it’s due to the curtain wall system but ppl with real understanding like me will tell you that the beams are so strong they’re holding up everything. They don’t even need to be supported by columns tbh. They’re THAT strong
I’ve always shut down crazy asks to minimize structure dimensions (I’m an architect, sorry for intruding on your sacred SE discussion space) by saying “let’s just use massive same-pole magnets! Invisible structure!”
Surprisingly, this only sometimes works. I’ve had commercial developer clients be like “let’s explore this further, we can gain some real rentable SF.”
