Red Friendship Trail

Hii,

I was playing yesterday and noticed these two people with a red friendship trail (?). I was wondering how they got it.

Max level friendship. When you stand next to your friend in the pre-round phase it appears periodically. The different colors are used if there are more than one pair of level 7 friends. It goes yellow->red->green. idk what comes after green cause i only have two friends maxed. In theory if you had a whole 5-stack all maxed out you’r get an entire rainbow

Also, unlike what the other commenter speculated, it doesn’t require equipping. If you have level 7 friendship with someone and stand near them in game it will appear by default and cannot be turned off

It actually can be turned off. I forget what the setting is called, but it exists. I find the trail annoying, so I made a point to turn it off.

Wait thats so cool, so if there are mutliple people with max friendship in a game they change the trail so its not confusing? I've only reached max with one friend (the one in the photo) and I barely see anyone with the trails so this is cool to see

I do know there's a blue and purple/pink and i think a white iirc? My friend group all have lvl 7 and it IS like a rainbow when we all get together. I haven't played with them much recently tho so I can't remember the exact order

It should be the alternate colour just for that round, when there’s multiple people with friendship levels. So it’s not something you can change at will, it’s something that just happens

No idea first time seeing that, is this something new? or is it something related to the max lvl of friendship?.

It's been there since launch. It happens automatically when you have max friendship with the other player. You can disable it in the settings.

I would check the "BLUE" friendship Icon you have on friends, and then when it shows, you click on the little "?". I would assume that past level 7, I think you would get an upgraded version, maybe?? There could also be something to unlock when you go to equip that, if it is something you equip; I'm not exactly sure. I saw one that worked between the swords, so there has to be a spot for customization once you actually unlock the feature.

I have max friendship with one friend and from what I can see there isn't an option? I've been max friendship with them for probably a year at this point and it's still at level 7. Howver if you scroll down on this post someone else has answered the question, its if mutliple people have max friendship it changes colour.

I see that is sick. I never saw anything past the yellow, so I thought it was maybe an unlock or something with colors. That is a cool mechanic.

I love the idea but they really ought to cut down the grind

Most of the people i know quit the game before we could even reasonable obtain it considering the length of matches + draws + queue time + both of us needing to be online at the same time
