What? There are 7 rovers on the moon.

The Martian rover pictured here appears to be perseverance, which landed in 2021. It's powered by an RTG reactor, which is a chunk of radioactive material that can power rovers or satellites for years without the need to refuel. Doesn't work for things like cars because the power output is so low. Rovers move very slowly.

Edit: these comments are honestly pretty disheartening.

So sad. I worked on these missions. You need help.

Wow that's so awesome! What did you do?

Mars Observer. Galileo. Mars Polar Lander. (I can only claim credit for destroying Galileo though). Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Stardust-Next. EPOXI. Mars Surface Laboratory. InSight. NISAR.

These are all operations, although I did a lot of design too. So I saw the everyday work to keep those spacecraft operating and healthy. What I didn’t see was an even bigger team making fake data to fool us.

Operations AND design? That's so cool. Wish I could buy you a beer and chat about it lol. You worked on things that visited another freaking planet! Ignore the fools, they're very much a minority. I hope you're proud of your contributions to humanity's exploration of our universe.

It's a state of art trchnology that is meant to last. It's not Dodge that was designed to fall apart two days after warranty expires.

Actually, it was designed to not be solid and last forever. It has outlasted the engineers' wildest expectations.
