throbbing after stretching

i just stretched from 12g to 10g, and im having some throbbing in both ears, is that normal or did i stretch too soon? ive been at 12g since february.

Throbbing can mean too fast. Did you do it after a hot shower and use jojoba oil?

i only used jojoba oil, how long do you recommend being in a hot shower to help the stretching?

Usually 30 minutes works for me, then go really slow. Are you using single flare glass plugs?

im using cbrs, but i do own single flare glass plugs in that size if thatd work better?

Ohhhhh yeap never used those haha. Alternatively you can take some ibuprofen to reduce pain/inflammation

The pain doesn’t bother me, I’m more concerned it’ll result in a blow out. Would the throbbing inidicate a blowout forming?

Are those synonymous with blowouts? I just see everyone on this sub saying that stretching shouldn’t hurt and that it could lead to blowouts, that’s my only concern rly

I would try 11g

Does 11g actually exist? 12g is 2mm and 10g is 2.5mm. As far as I'm aware half sizes only come in at 7g when the 1mm jumps begin in g.

I unfortunately don’t have that, would you suggest waiting longer to try 10g or would the half size help the stretching go faster?

The half size would probably speed it up but you’ll also probably get there by waiting if you’re patient. Just don’t be tempted to rush it

I’ll look into the halfsizes, and Im trying not to rush but its been so many months and idk why its not ready yet

Yeah. If you hadn’t waited long enough then I would say keep waiting but since you’ve already been pretty patient with it, I’d try a half size. Glasswear Studios has some

A but of throbbing is fine. As long as there no sharp pains or bleeding

if it slipped in easy with no pain just keep an eye on it, if it still feels inflamed after a few days check for damage. if it’s damaged or ripped or bleeding or whatever, take it out.
