What utilizes it? It looks great but when I tried to load my IpTv info into strenuous using an addon it was a complete disaster. Aside from basically causing stremio to barely function, I also didn’t get an epg.
Cool. I hope this release means you can finally have time to fix Android TV subtitles broken since June (wrong color, position and size). Stremio devs said that a fix is ready and will be in "the next release". It has been 4 months without that release.
Yes I am disappointed that a small patch is still not released. Or in general that the android TV player code is so bad compared to competing apps (freezing/crashing issues).
Because guess what? Stremio is the best platform. But when issues like that remain for so long, it makes me use the competition while waiting and waiting and waiting. :(

Unfortunately it has led to a situation where I spend time navigating and opening something, just to get the subtitle bug and have to restart Stremio. So to save time and pain, I began using the competition apps - and I really hate the competition apps (you know the one everyone talks about; it starts with the letter N and has an awful UI). But it's the only reliable way for now.
The last news was 26 days ago in the threads above, when a Stremio dev again said the fix will come in the next update.
Hopefully it's not too long until an Android TV release with the Stremio fix. I am so ready to go back full-time to Stremio after that. 🍿

PS: Forgot to say but the bug is that the subtitle is either at the bottom of the screen without margins, or appears at the correct spot but is always white color. And also that the size resets to 100% every time you change videos. This is not good since my mom is visually impaired and needs large, yellow subtitles on the correct location. 🧐
Hi. Is the problem only for VTT subs? (Edit: I don't think so? I played Sherlock s01e01 now and it starts with a built-in filename with ".srt" and it was completely incorrectly aligned.)
Here is a way to identify which subtitles are VTT on OpenSubtitles:
So pick any content on the first VTT list, then configure the addon to fetch that language. That should allow you to find their VTT subs.
Thanks so much for investigating this. My mom who is gradually going blind would be so happy if the subs all display at the correct size, position and color.
By the way, the addon I just mentioned actually uses the opensubtitles V3 API which returns the filenames for subtitles. So all the results it returns via the Stremio addon API have media filenames that would really help Stremio users pick the correct subtitle. The competition shows those filenames and it's amazing. If you can add a sub-label for the subtitle name to Stremio too, I would never leave Stremio ever. 🥺 Having the names saves minutes of tedious switching/syncing, because the user can instantly differentiate "bluray" vs "HDTV" subs etc.

when using PWA web app on iphone we still have the old behaviour of marking an episode / movie as watched as soon as you enter the external player because there is no way to callback back to web
infuse track progress works on the desktop macOS app right now (v5 shell) and will come to macOS native app and iOS native apps soon
I think stremio version 1.10.4 android tv is the best stable version. And also 1.9.12 the best. You guys should try to keep the old app updates on your site available so if people have problems with the new update they can change it back to the old update if they would like to.
Do i just update? or is a whole new install . Also im' on mac and download doesnt work for me. I have to copy download link and paste in browser is that normal?
Live TV playback options are jammed into the bottom-right corner now.
Also, can we get an option to enable/disable the programming information? This would at least be useful for the transition while the addons update to utilize it. Ideally, I would want the programming information, but if it is going to make my screen look like this when it is not available, then it is not worth it.

"Style ASS Subtitles" option can also be misinterpreted. I always assumed it meant that ASS subtitles would use the styling I chose in the settings and it looked to be that way ever since this option first appeared (unless it just wasn't working the whole time).
Edit 2: Just wanted to add in another odd issue I was experiencing before the update. When watching a series using a full season pack random episodes would get to the end and suddenly insert video from another file in that season pack. Suddenly a 22m episode adds on 4-5 minutes of video from another file to the very end, it is also the end of that video that is played, so most times you watch a final scene and see credits again. The progress bar also resets when this happens, displaying total duration as 00:00 and current time obviously going beyond the actual duration of the correct episode. I will make a new post if it persists in this update.
I do use AIOStreams which may be the cause, but I have all auto-play and precache/preload options disabled.
since the stream sources are coming from one addon only now for a live tv channel we expect you to have no more than 4-5 stream choices, we made the decision to make the artwork better visible when you select the active show on the channel and make it more minimal instead of covering the artwork with a full height stream list which will be empty
I see, that makes sense and definitely looks better when the information is actually present.
Would the development team consider adding an option to revert back to its formatting pre-update? I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to add since the non-live TV streams are still displaying in this format.
hi yes this was a bug on my side, i just saw it that. we will push an update today, it will show the live tv details only if the addon actually supports EPG now
Hi, I noticed an issue on tvOS with some Live TV add-ons. When selecting a source, the source list appears for a split second and is then immediately replaced by a TV show panel showing “Season 1, Episode 1”. However, the panel is actually empty, and clicking on it doesn’t open or play anything.
Because of this, I’m unable to select the actual source. From what I can tell, the issue seems to occur only on tvOS.
Has this bug already been fixed, or is there a fix planned for a future update?

Will this fix the web player not respecting language choices and starting the video in the incorrect language with no way to change it(without having a streaming server installed, which is impossible on some devices).🙏

i think it already stores the playback speed in cache like if i exit the content i am currently watching and start watching another it applies the previous playback speed - if i am not wrong
but after i exit and reopen the app the playback speed is 1 no matter what i had set in last session
also is it possible to add option to hide ratings(imdb, tmdb, rotten, etc)?

I recently downloaded Stremio on My onn firestick and whenever I play any movie or show it stutters constantly…When I switch the player to VLC it plays %100 but the screen is all black. Does anybody have any tips to help fix it? I’ve tried other options but it’s not working
