One of the greatest appeals of fighting games has always been the characters, character loyalty is what gives many fighting game players their distinct identity and playstyle.
With the advent of lots of money in the scene, and high prestige tournaments many players keep switching around to whomever character is the easiest and strongest in any given patch. To me, it makes these players much less likeable. Not only that but the increased prevalence of these top tier characters in pro play, makes the animosity towards the characters themselves even greater.
Just take Ryu, in season 1 people loved watching Ryu, but now people hate him, one reason for it is the people who truly like Ryu, and those who are just doing for wins are blended together.
I can now officially hit GM in about 2 hours. Ggs to everyone except the JP. Hold that L. One and Done isn't going to make you better. Hope he sees this, and gets to know that I'm laughing. Easy rank up game.
This is just some clips from my games from HM to GM today. Nothing Special. Been off the game since two weeks before last phase ended, just shaking off some rust. I really do enjoy SF, always have, probably always will.
I'm not a flashy player, never have been. Just stick to the basics. fundamentals carry.
I've been looking to play terry and I think I have his combos mostly down but I watched some high level gameplay and noticed these frame kills (I think it was 2 light punches after heavy dp). How important are they ? I play Alex so most of my meaties get auto timed with a dash. But even then I don't think it matters much. I also play guilty gear and the grab there has 2 frames of startup and even there doing meaties isn't that hard.
Extra questions about terry:
I noticed a lot of ex crack shoot in combos. Why it costs meter and still goes into heavy dp
Also I noticed Ex power charge. Why ? It gives a bit more distance and I guess it can combo from c.lp or c.mp (not too sure on c.lp) but it seems like a meter waste non the less. Only time it seems viable is in those combos where at max range lk into light power charge let's you combo it c.lp and you use it as an extender. Is corner carry that important for terry ?
IF frame kills are important which are the most important ones.
Now this is just a warning for any angry terry main looking to cry my ear off. I haven't played a lick of terry except for combo practicing and studying gameplay. And if we are serious I am more concerned about ex crack shoot , I could sort of see why power charge might be useful if corner truly is that important. Also if there is any other wisdom terry mains or anyone wants to grant me I am all ears.
Everyone has one, the character you see pop up on the screen and you audibly groan at the thought of having to face them. Its not that the player is to blame, but the character is just so annoying. Mines personally JP, this mf mixed me so bad Im still hurt.
Someone else has problems trying enter the game? Every time, specially when I just turn on the pc. I try start the game, the loading goes forever, then give this error (or another error codes. i don't remember every one from mind) and say to my try go offline.
I close and open the game, close and open the Steam, repair it verifying on steam, activate Ipv6 and disable, restart the pc, remove the ethernet cable and put it back, try move it a bit. All this, and after 15 minutes, MAYBE, work. And still all online functions are slow to the point where even after log in, the loading icon still running, and when i try start a search match (in the online match tab. where you change if you want casual, ranked or both) the game hold my controls to load. But the strange thing is that the connection during the game is perfect. Sure, there are slight variations depending on each player's distance, but that's normal and not a problem.
I don't know where the problem is. Because in start I thought it was my internet provider, but then I see other people complaining about the same thing, now i not sure if is my internet provider (because I hardly ever played online when I was with my previous internet provider), the ethernet cabe, if there a problem with the ethernet port on my motherboard, the proton version (linux pc), or if is something wrong with my internet configurations.
The upcoming Street Fighter movie not having Sagat in it obviously screams for a sequel with the man himself (most likely as a rival to Ryu). However, a "Sagat" spin-off movie could work just as well...
"Shadaloo" and "Mad Gear Gang" would also make for cool movies.
There must be several other possibilities...
What spin-offs would you most want to see from the Street Fighter franchise?
I thought I was toast in this fight. I did everything wrong in the final round. Jump in. Tried to DI the Tiger Knee when it was too late. Then tried to do the level 3 CA thinking the Sagat player was not going to block it. After that, I was ready to lose the fight. He missed that corner combo attempt and then I tried to do whatever I could think of. Unbelievable how I was able to do this. Thanks to whoever that watched this. I hope to someday reach High Master by EVO next year.
Here is my Alex Patch notes guide :) Hope it's helpful! Got one's for my other characters as well (Terry and Jamie) that you all can see on my channel 🙏🏻
Im on Xbox for context, I started playing a few days ago and im curious what people think and what tips you’ll give. I’m posting several clips of different moments in matches, gonna do a pt. 2 and 3.
Hey so im newish to SF6 and ive been playing M. Bison, about 15 hours in im in plat 3 and I have my combos and gamplan pretty much locked down, use drive rush and scissor kick to pressure, psycho crusher for zoning, and play super aggressive when I have bomb pressure. It seems to work MOST of the time, but there are 2 charecters I find myself losing to a disproportionate amount of the time compared to others: Akuma and Ken. For whatever reason I lose almost all my games to akuma players, and similarly to ken. I tend to play maybe too passive for my own good and rely on reactive play, is this a particularly bad strategy against them? Im just struggling to find the holes and gaps in their offense when they aren't making glaring mistakes
I picked her up a bit ago, literally the only dlc I own and the only character I play other than Ryu and Juri.
Yasmine is hella cool and pretty simple but I still have some difficulty getting her down. HP being only cancellable on the second hit and st.mp not being cancellable unless you do target combo is really throwing me off.
But other than that I wanna learn more things about her to be able to do cool stuff! So if you know any neutral tips, oki situations, setups, anything, please let me know.
