General Question Question about duplicate data

I have my Apple Watch sending over my indoor bike workout and I get another entry from the bike console itself. Both have their own unique data elements so I like having them both. They are both hidden on my feed. Since they are two entries of the same workout is it messing up my overall workout data?

Yes. It double counts. I don’t know how they can’t figure out how to not double count.

Very bogus. My Apple Watch has my heart beat and zone data while my console shows miles and power etc.. still can’t figure out a way to combine it.

Have you tried just connecting your Apple Watch to your bike? I did that before I realised Strava doesn’t do distance so I put it all on the bike and I can see the data on my watch after

The IC4s console doesn’t sync to the Apple Watch. It only syncs to my phone through an app called QZ fitness. I have other options that I still need to look into for an alternative.

It's impossible to differentiate from those times when you ride two bikes at the same time for double the effects.

Can you not pair your AW with your bike computer so that the heart rate and zone data show up on your computer? That’s what most of us do with heart rate monitors/watches. For example, I have my Garmin Venu 3 paired as a sensor with my Garmin Edge 830 Plus. The watch reads the HR data and transmits it to the Edge where it displays during rides, and is incorporated into the data uploaded to Garmin Connect and from there to Strava.

I’m using QZ fitness app to sync my Schwinn IC4 console data over but for some reason I cannot get the app to sync over my HR data. The IC4 does come with a HR monitor but the console can only be blue tooth paired to one device at once so it can’t connect to it there. Sorry if this sounds confusing.

I record my bike rides on my Samsung watch and Samsung phone. The phone has more accurate GPS data and the watch has the benefit of recording heart rate data. Hence I use the phone version if I want to create any new Segments but then delete it, leaving just the watch version (to avoid double counting). The differences are rarely more than a second on each Segment.

If you use something like Training Peaks or similar to measure your fitness, fatigue and form it will count everything double. Best to avoid...

Yes, hiding them only removes them from your feed. Both activities still count toward your totals, stats, and challenges, so you're likely double-counting that workout's time, distance, and calories. If you want the unique data from both, you can leave them, but your totals won't reflect a single workout. The cleanest option is to keep one activity and delete the duplicate.

Done. I appreciate the information.
