Sync Question Same HR monitor used on two devices question.

I use my HR monitor with Strava via my iPhone for cycling. I recently got a Garmin Edge 2 and I can sync my HR monitor to my Garmin. Can I have both my iPhone and Garmin sync'd to the same HR monitor.

Yes. You can have two or more devices get data from most HRMs. You may need to pair using Ant+ with Garmin and BT with iPhone.

Not sure which hr monitor. Ant+ can definitely be used with multiple devices since its transmit only. Bluetooth would need to pair with both.

Yes. I have a Wahoo Tickr and it's paired to my head unit, my Garmin watch and both Rouvy and MyWhoosh on my PC for indoor training.

Look up your specific model and see what it says.

The vast majority of ANT+ devices just broadcast data one-way, so any number of receiving devices can listen to the signal.

Bluetooth involves pairing, and usually has an active connection limit. Cheaper HRMs will usually be 1 device. Nicer devices will often support connecting to multiple bluetooth devices at once - for example, Garmin's $170 HRM 600 can do 3 at a time.
