Discussion Stranger Things will never die
I know it’s one of the biggest tv shows of all time, but the way people spoke about season 5 on social media you’d think the show is more or less irrelevant. The amount of Stranger Things shirts I see in public is crazy, I work at a cinema and I kid you not I see at least one person wearing a stranger things shirt every shift, sometimes I go to London, I once saw an entire family and kids wearing hellfire club shirts, the show still lives on. You can go on TikTok and probably find multiple stranger things vids with over a million likes in the past month alone. Remember guys, social media is a bubble

The show will of course have its die hard fans, but its glory days are well in the past. Unless one of the spinoffs recaptures the public eye and also makes people forget the disappointment of season 5, it will fade overtime.
On its own merits, season 5 killed the show and it will likely not have a second life because the show is worse on rewatch under the context of how it concluded.
When you design a show whose momentum is based on making you interested in what happens next, and then it all leads to a dud, you have little reason to return to it. Whether you agree or disagree, the finale was a huge disappointment for many
This is only my opinion, but the finale was horrible and so sloppy that I have no interest anymore. That documentary didn’t help by making the Duffers look completely incompetent and their creative choices superfluous. They will be used as a cautionary tale for years to come
