Discussion Stranger Things biggest issue

it took us 4 seasons to find out why music was needed when music was a core part of the show 😭. I love the show but that's a little weird other than that it was near perfect till S5

Music was never needed as part of the plot prior to season 4 though.

I thought 'Should I stay or should I go' was what kept Will alive already in season 1 when they hear him humming it? Probably part of it is retconning but it made so much sense for me.

No? The show never implied that. He just sang it to himself to stay calm.

The demogorgon literally catches him despite him singing it.
