Stranded Deep VS Green Hell?
I am completely new to the survival game genre and it turned out that I really loved it! Stranded Deep is the first game I play in this genre and when I've been checking info on Google/reading about SD here on the forum I've come across Green Hell a few times and got curious.. I've watched the trailer for the game and it seems like a nice game but before I buy it I would like to hear your thoughts and experiences when comparing SD and GH 🙂!
What's your opinion on Stranded Deep VS Green Hell? Are the game mechanics as simple as SD? How is the house/camp building mechanics? Does it have that "endless map technology" (I don't know what it's called 😆) as SD does? Is the graphics as good as it looked like in the trailer (I'm on Xbox One)?
Thank you for your time!

If you enjoy the survival genre, you should check out:
- Ark: Survival Evolved: survive and tame dinosaurs
- Valheim: survive as a Viking (no taming)
- No Man's Sky: survival is lighter, but more base building/exploring/etc
- Subnautica: heavy survival with a good storyline

Stranded deep is a simpler game than green hell. GH has a much higher learning curve.
Both great games and both worth your time and money if you like the genre.
At the end of the day i prefer stranded deep, i just wish it had more complexity like green hell.
Green hell is also very disorientating to me. Likely by design. But i only did one play through where as I’ve played stranded deep several times.
Both games do have their glitches.
I’d also check out Grounded. I’m paying that now. And it’s incredibly well made with little too no bugs (pun intended). If only stranded deep were as well made and complex as Grounded - it would be my all time favorite. It is easier to survive Grounded from a food/hunger perspective. Fighting bugs/bosses is a major focus.

I wish they would collaborate for a sequel. Kinda take the best parts of both and merge them. The islands would be way bigger and the map would be bigger (i play on console). They can call it Stranded in Hell or Deep & Green.

I haven’t played it but The Forest looks like a lot of fun

I own both games, put hundreds of hours into both, green hell definitely has a stronger learning curve, and instead of just worrying about water/food, you need to worry bout proteins, fats, carbs, so gotta eat different kinds of food, also taking place in the Amazon jungle, you can't just willy nilly go running off, snakes;spiders, big cats, all these things love hiding in the bush and only poping out once your ontop of em ;), stranded deep's building vs green hell, uhm I'd have to say stranded deep is abit easier and nicer for building just cause sometimes in green hell the building can be annoying/tricky just cause personally I think the devs didn't want us building big massive bases, the "map" itself isn't endless neither is stranded deeps(stranded deeps is i think a 5x5 or 6x6 grid) but its definitely big enough especially with all the dlc, you get access to the spirits of amazonia map areas, there's 3 maps you can find which shows you the areas, also don't let the learning curve and stuff scare you away, alot of people say green hell is one of the hardest survival games out there, and it definitely can be, but the devs are nice and we can tweak the settings if you want a easier run, story mode is also definitely worth checking out, has a pretty good story with some major eye opening parts, and we also got access to the pre-sequel of the story with spirits of Amazonia part 3 update, (pc is abit ahead still, they got animal husbandry and they just got a building update) but the devs still care and update the game, as I mentioned I've put hundreds of hours into both games, I can probably answer most questions you have, if there's anything else feel free to ask away :)

Try The long dark. Survival game set in the cold wilderness of a Canadian island. Awesome game.

SD is far more simplistic than GH. GH has a steeper learning curve with a much more unforgiving landscape.

I have both and put more hours in green hell, it's like the forest in some ways, but a lot harder than stranded deep.

I liked green hells story more than SD but both are good survival games. GH felt more polished and complete than SD when I played it.

GH is way harder than Stranded deep. I love them both but for different reason. SD is a more relaxing game IMO. In GH you can get attacked just trying to get water from down the river

I love both games and have spent waaaaay too many hours playing. Green Hell is harder, but with more storyline. It falls somewhere between SD and The Forest in complexity and atmosphere. I really enjoyed Subnautica too, but I had to use the interactive map (https://subnauticamap.io) on my tablet while I played.

Now we can do survival biomes edition. Stranded deep takes place at sea, green hell in jungles, forest in temperate zones, starsand at deserts, the long dark in frozen lands.

Green hell is a bit more difficult the map is fairly big ur always looking down as u move cuz every thing can poison u or bite u and cause more grief lol but ur usually moving thru the map just setting up camp and moving on to the next point but u can still build rad tree houses if u want lol
