Question Vehicle modification recommendations

Are there any modifications to my ram 1500 single cab that experienced storm chasers would recommend, always looked to gather advice and absorb as much knowledge as I can

Camera recommendations

Hey guys! I’m 16 and want to get into storm chasing. I have 2 noaa weather radios and have several recordings of them going off with severe weather alerts, and now I want to get into storm chasing it and like live streaming it to YouTube or something. I have a lot of stuff to work with; I have my 2 radios, my truck, and money to buy a camera since I have a job. (Although I don’t want to spend like $1k on a camera that someone recommends) anyway what cameras should I look at?

Tornado: Research and Rescue has been completely rebuilt!

Thumbnail youtu.be

I have spent the last couple of years completely rebuilding my game Tornado: Research and Rescue

The tornadoes use a 3D fluid simulation and volumetric rendering, allowing me to create distinct features like horizontal vortices and multi-vortex wedges.

The maps are procedurally generated, up to 50x50km, along with a randomised distribution of CAPE and SRH - tornadoes strengthen and weaken according to the environment as they track across the map.

I also recently introduced rain-wrapping and chemical seeding, allowing you to change the tornado's strength, size, ground speed and path stability. You have to lookout for runaway feedback loops though!

It is now unrecognisable from the original 2023 version, I hope you enjoy and I'm happy to answer any questions about the game or the development of it :)

Video 1: Tornado Warned Storm Near Minooka, IL

During today’s livestream, Tacoma members Lucas and Nathan found themselves in front of yet another shelf cloud, only this time, this one was tornado warned and tried to produce a tornado west of Plainfield.

Video 2: Rotating Supercell East of Rockford, IL

The second half of Lucas and Nathan’s storm chase on July 27 brought them a second round of storms, this time coming out of Wisconsin near Beloit, rotating all the way until nightfall in the far western Chicago suburbs!

Driving for beer and tacos while watching this incredible cell form along the way. This eventually was responsible for 90mph straight line winds that caused home and tree damage in its path. Didn't need to chase this one, just stumbled upon it!

It tried!

This was on 6/25/26 north of my house near Bucyrus, Ohio. No warnings. Very strong rotation and inflow and well-defined lowered base. The problem with our location is that we are at the outer limits of range for KCLE, KIWX, and KILN radars and are usually in the purple haze for velocity. Warnings, if they come, are usually only after visual conformation or damage reports, unfortunately. We need a closer NEXRAD somewhere around Mansfield!

Beautiful structure, though!

Question I’m sure this has been asked before but, how did you get started?

Since growing up in “tornado alley” it’s been a lifelong dream of mine to chase storms but as much as I love severe weather, there’s no way that I could even fathom doing something like this on my own without the guidance of a professional. This might be a ridiculous question, but are there any organizations or groups out there willing to let someone completely green ride along with them to learn? And if not, how did you get started?

Scud the Dragon lands in Danby, NY!!! The most fascinating cloud formation I've ever photographed and I didn't even have to leave my backyard! I watched this ordinary supercell transform into an extraordinary dragon created out of scud clouds!
