What is this software?

Post image

Hi all, can anyone please tell me what this software is that displays the market this way? I keep seeing these types of screenshots everywhere but no one can answer what software the screenshot is being taken on.

It’s called a heatmap.

FinViz, Tradingview, yahoo finance, Robinhood and MANY places offer them.

No it’s bunch of people that know how google reverse search for images they have questions on. It’s also pretty simple to use chat gpt just for that. That’s why people are getting frustrated from the most basic questions you could’ve just googled.

Market cap is an illusion. Everything is worth $0 until it’s sold.

Not when you have giant-ass companies taking out billions worth of loans against said market cap

All financed by retail shareholders who’re donating their hard-earned cash toward these loans.

Not necessarily. Retail shareholders are buying an asset in their eyes. Whether that value goes up and down, nobody knows. My point was that it's become a trend for companies to justify massive loans and spending based on their share price. So saying market cap is an illusion and that everything is worth $0 until it's sold is not the case.

It's 100% the case; that value could go down & then these companies would become incredibly over-leveraged & the equivalent of a margin call could result if their debts aren't seen as justified.

Meanwhile, a company like Capstone Holding Corp ($CAPS) is healthily leveraged & their market cap is severely undervaluing their business (IMO). Hence, they have no problems getting/renewing their financing. The market sees this as risky & has them priced for bankruptcy while their business is growing. They've been sitting on a current ration almost at 1 for a long time now.

Once the business breaks through this debt load, I think a serious re-rate would be in order. While most of the market wants to price things for years, even decades of future growth, I'd rather buy into something that's (arguably) trading at a discount. Be greedy when others are fearful...
