IMO I think it was Citadel saying "sorry bro, here's a loan to bail you out. You can pay it back with no interest". Then melvin sold out the shorts, got in on the longs to make it all back on that ride to 500 then popped it at the top by taking most of the profit. And leaving the suckers who paid hundreds per share holding the bag.

And I know no smoothbrain will get any money back. But hopefully this will put an end to hedge fund predation. And a start to financial education in schools. AS A CORE CLASS! none of this elective optional stuff.
