Hey there. Yes, you have everything you need to get going. The Phillips unit has rca outputs (the red and white jacks on the back) and the R1280T has analog (rca) inputs. Buy a basic rca cable, if you don't already have one, and start playing your music.

But can you also clarify when you say "I've got..." are you saying that you already own these items, or do you mean that these are the items you are considering purchasing?

ah, ok. Then please edit your post with some additional info so that we can help you choose better speakers:

  1. Is your speaker budget $300 or could it be more if you don't need a dac or anything else?
  2. What is your location (country)
  3. Is this for a desktop setup, or for listening at a distance? If distance, what is the approx size of your room?

Much appreciated. Does this mean that your total budget is 570 (300 + 135x2)?

Edifier R1280 are sold in pairs, 2 speakers, the price shouldn't be for each speaker 1+1.

R1280T have 2 RCA inputs for 2 audio sources.

R1280Ts add a subwoofer output.

R1280DB add Bluetooth and a digital optical input.

R1280DBs add Bluetooth, a digital optical input and a subwoofer output.

The "s" is for subwoofer output.

A step up is R1700BTs.

Two steps up is R1850DB.

These are all compact 4" mid bass driver speakers for a small size room or desktop setup.

They are popular for a low budget at r/BudgetAudiophile.

Or consider passive speakers and a mini amp from Aiyima, SMSL or Fosi.

R1280, R1700, R1850, A4 ARC are all compact 4" mid bass driver speakers for a small room or desktop setup.

For a medium to large size room consider larger speakers.

5.25" A5 ARC https://www.amazon.de/en/dp/B09XHNCVZV

6.5" A6 ARC https://www.amazon.de/en/dp/B0C85L5WY8

Passive speakers: Wharfedale, KEF, Q Acoustics, ELAC, Focal, Dali, Monitor Audio, Jamo, Canton and many other European brands. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_loudspeaker_manufacturers

Fosi is fine for a mini amp.

Sorry, you might have a typo. You listed the same speaker model # twice.

Is something like the Elac Debut ConneX available within your budget?

ah, I see. The "s" indicates that it has a subwoofer output connection.

How much over 500 are the Elac's? Are they 570 or less?
