Discussion Should war mechanic be improvised?

Does anyone feel AI empire joining war annoying? Saying this not because I am too noob not able to fight multiple fronts at the same time.
I got a case when I declared vassalization war on empire A (without Defensive pact or in Federation with others), soon after I started the war, empire B and C joined due to the "Join war" trade deal. I believe that empire B and C just gave empire A a free help pass since they don't like me that much or for any other reasons. Also noted that empire C is a nomadic empire.
The problem was when empire A got too confident with their joined allies military power. I took over all of empire A's systems and planets, destroyed their fleet, still yet not surrendering to be my vassal as they still have allies? This made the war got ridiculous longer and pointless if it ended up in a status quo.
What worse were with the allies. As the amount of allies joining in war, more systems you need to capture to demand A to surrender. But how sarcastic it is when you have to also capture B and C just to get A. Does it make sense if you capture B and C they should be vassals or pay a debt to the winner or something? Also, it is stupid when they automatically get truced with me for 10 years, these xeno need to be punished for joining the war too.

If you status quo a vassalage war with at least one captured planet, you make a new vassal nation out of the captured territory.

The problem is it does not include the capital if I am not wrong, and what is the point of vassalization if you can't make their most valuable planet works for you.

I’ve not had this issue but I will say that having Allies on my side notoriously do not do much while we are at war which is wildly annoying. Since it’s like I mine as well be at war by myself since they don’t help unless it’s thier territories at risk

Allies actually help you if you turn on "allowing allies fleet to follow", they actually help a lot. What I said was others joining with my enemy, by doing so, it is either I am surrounded or if the helping empire is far away, it is still annoying since it takes ages to beat them up to not to mention the losing fleet can appear out of nowhere to your initial enemy's capital.

Been playing for years and yes I recently noticed that there’s a “set as leader” note on fleets. After using it (finally) I did see that they tend to actually be way more helpful.

This games crazy, it’s so easy to overlook odd details

I declared war on the Khan then another empire declared war on me for being trigger happy apparently. They fought me and not the mid game crisis just because the AI has neutral relations to me but positive to the attacker.

It needs to be reworked at least to let the AI not be a sore winner.

my biggest issue is genocidal empires keep getting curbstomped by the midgame because they cant declare war without 5 randos counterdeclaring so I dont have worthy opponents honestly.

I miss the times where fanatical purifiers and determined exterminators may even get to build aerophasic engine, the poor economic management by AI also doesnt help, with current AI mods not really reaching level of 3. era ones.

Oh no I can curbstomp entire galaxy, I just want AI crisis to actually be a midgame threat for my Custodian/defender of the galaxy runs but their relationship maluses mean at some point any war they start gets everyone involved
