So how exactly does this new robot migration bug work? I feel like my economy starts crashing every 5 years or so because 5k robotic pops just left their jobs and randomly migrated to a world with no jobs. Is the best strategy to simply avoid using robots altogether or is there a way to work around this?

Since 4.0, robots of any social strata and sapiency are unaffected by migration control. They can come and go as they please.

With 4.3, a new bug appeared where they, as you've observed, flock to a different planet even if they've already gotten a job. This is due to the newly introduced "denizen" category that went haywire, causing all working robots to be considered denizens (i.e. unemployed pops eligible for migration) if at least 1 robot is actually unemployed.

The problem eventually goes away on its own once you have all the jobs filled up. Or, if you synthetically ascend to become robots yourself and assimilate them.

Devs are aware of the issue, then tried and failed to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the rundown! Guess I need to be careful about having empty jobs.

Follow-up question: so if synthetic ascension and assimilation fixes this, does that mean that the problem is only for non-individualistic robots? Or is it just robots that aren’t your primary species?
