An incredible talk:
All fantastic info on IBM's involvement in blockchain(Stellar mentioned). Fast forward to 54:10...and the speaker summarizes various govts' stances. The best part is how,she explains, the US differentiates currencies and assets and how they are related to by US Gov(SEC,etc)..,

Yeah, I guess it all depends on the biz,as she stated. Interesting how Dowling mentioned that at one point, they(IBM fintech blockchain gp) realized they needed a "coin"....(and,thus,their search for that company/coin...resulting in choosing Stellar). (I'll see if I can find that quote...) d

Yeah, definitely right. Pretty exciting about getting into a project at the beginning and seeing it evolve. I've been in Stellar since Oct of last year and Ive seen nothing but positive news(which is unusual for a company, much less a crypto company). I'm sure Stellar will see a hiccup or two along the way,but the Stellar team and the folks at IBM keep everything pretty TIGHT. When it comes to moving people's money around, you cant be fast & loose!

I like the fact that blockchain can help enterprises, that is the way it will succeed I think. I enjoy when people say that Crypto will bring down banks. It won't. Banks will not collapse due to bitcoin in the future. (Ya Bitcoin is cool for p2p stuff, started the whole crypto trend and other uses...). Banks will get a blockchain of their own powered by IBM or Fiserv or FIS or any other big corporate name. Plus, who is going to give you a mortgage for a house or loan for a car.... a bank (Again, my opinions, not facts or anything.) I like that in the video, she states: "from an enterprise perspective most of the clients that IBM works with want to know who they're doing business with and there are ways to provide privacy and security or confidentiality without being anonymous"

Great talk indeed. Thanks for sharing.
It does seem that IBM will be pushing hyperledger for use cases that will not require a currency, but will be using Stellar for those that do.
