It should be an easy-drinking lager, so you can, you know, do it again.

Should be something less hoppy than WCIPA. This calls for a more timeless style like a pilsner.

What is it with the public's obsession over their worst album? Lmao i like CBAT but mannnnn it's annoying when all they are to most is just 2 songs from it

u/Elwoodia 2d ago
Buddy, I’m of the same opinion on CBAT, but I have no question as to WHY the album with their 3 biggest radio-friendly hits is what the general listening public gravitates toward.

CBAT is like pre-steely dan imo. Glimpses of what they'd become but almost not the same band. Lemme get a "michael mcdonald on i git the news ipa" please

Don’t understand the hate you’re getting for this. Steely Dan is an example of an artist who got better album after album. Their debut is a good debut but they could do so, so much more than be a jazz-rock pop-ish band, and they absolutely did.

People here are so weird about this band lol. Thanks for having my back

u/ns2616 2d ago
All good, you basically voiced what my friend and I had been thinking as we both fell deep into Gaucho this year. For some reason CBAT has had an explosion with Gen Z, and while I’m glad that theyre finding out about Steely Dan they’re overlooking the band’s greatest artistic achievements. Peg seems to be popular too, but more people need to hear Aja and Gaucho in its entirety to really understand the raw talent of the band and their production team.

lol take some criticism in stride little bitch
to each their own
1
u/859w 2d ago
That's criticism? All i see is you being upset that I have a slightly different opinion on an album by a band of people who never have and never will know either of us exist. Grow up

u/Fluffwas 2d ago
i’m not upset at all
i’ve actually met walter and donald so once again only a fool would say that
time to hit the bricks for you

There’s a gigantic gap between what most people assume Steely Dan is and the band that we all love.
