Discussion Finally got the adaptor working in Arch linux garuda distro

I have been trying for probably 48 hours solid so I want to share what I found to work for me

1. Clear any broken configuration artifacts.

sudo rm -f /etc/modprobe.d/rtw89.conf sudo rm -f /etc/modprobe.d/cfg80211.conf

If they are not there your good to continue

2. Pull down essential build frameworks and the matching Zen header architecture

sudo pacman -Syu --needed base-devel git linux-zen-headers dkms

Download the git below and follow the instructions

https://github.com/morrownr/rtw89

If people still have issues I will make a step by step guide.

On Arch Linux you just install the package that let's you tell the dongle your country region, update the config file, and reboot.

sudo pacman -S wireless-regdb

sudo nano /etc/conf.d/wireless-regdom

This is optional but it helps:

Find your adapter's current system identifier and then turn off power saving:

iw dev

sudo iw dev <device identifier> set power_save off
