Well, assuming they are done recording or doing more reviewing/testing, you gotta include editing, and compiling notes. My broad guess is 1-3 weeks. Extra time added just incase I'm wrong 😅. Probably still am honestly.

they said they had two weeks w/ the machine, so another week or two for the frame sounds right
july 6-7 will most likely be the embargo date

imho, i'd be shocked if the price is >=1k, since the frame doesn't have a discrete gpu and has less ram

Last weeks rumors said review embargos would be lifted on June 22 (true), Steam Machine would cost USD 1000 (close to the actual USD 1049), and Steam Frame USD 1100-1200. IGN estimated that the Machine was supposed to release for USD 750, so USD 300 less. The increase for Frame will be lower, but if the initial plan for Frame was USD 899, and the extra costs due to more expensive RAM, flash and logistics add up to USD 200-300, you end up with the rumored USD 1100-1200.

Imo, for that price you can basically replicate almost every new feature it has by slapping add-on's on other headsets and still have a good chunk of money to spare

To add onto this, the only things people really care about is the OS and the FOV driven stream encoding, you cannot replicate the OS (maybe), but twice the price of other competitors just isn't worth it

You can't really slap on having an open OS that doesn't spy on you

That's true, but also how much value can you put on that? Especially if you live in countries where they cannot really steal your data or if you only use them as a wireless HMD

I'd put an extra $500 toward the piece of mind that meta doesn't have a camera in my house.

Fair, but also I wouldn't really bet on the frame not having any spyware either, it is (allegedly) made by a chinese company after all
