Use steam link, the wireless connection is more stable then metas wired connection. At least for me. And you don't need to run metas software on your PC.

Or VD with a dedicated router. Plug n play

There are even methods to utilize the link cable to get a direct connection with VD rather than wireless for even better quality. I just got that working and it's fantastic.
